1967 Autodynamics D4-A Formula Vee

The 1967 Autodynamics D4-A Formula Vee, owned and raced by Lauren Licht, is another excellent example of the legendary Formula Vee race cars produced by Ray Caldwell’s Autodynamics. The D4-A shares its heritage with the Autodynamics Mk IV and is generally believed to be a wider version of the successful design, providing additional cockpit room while retaining the same proven chassis and Volkswagen-based Formula Vee mechanicals.

Finished in its distinctive purple livery and carrying race number 257, Lauren’s D4-A is a familiar sight at vintage racing events throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Like all classic Formula Vees, it delivers close, competitive racing while preserving the simplicity and spirit that have made the class popular for nearly six decades.

Today, Lauren continues to campaign the car in vintage competition, helping preserve another important piece of Formula Vee history for future generations.
